For weight loss, a healthy and balanced diet is a must as it helps maintain your metabolic rate, gives you energy, maintains the shine and lustre of your hair and skin. Diet for weight loss involves a healthy lifestyle change – you do not need to follow a particular diet to lose weight but you need to eat healthy. It should be based on your likes, dislikes, culture, schedule, and a pattern that you are willing to accept and follow in your daily life.

Apart from diet, one needs to engage themselves in some kind of physical exercise like walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, jogging, etc. This is essential to burn fat and keep the metabolic rate in control. Here is sample diet plan for weight loss that I have been promising you:

Diet Alternation

  • Take plenty of lukewarm water
  • Take ginger tea 2-3 times in a day
  • Take Ayurvedic herbs like gugulu, gotu kala, ginger , dry ginger powder
  • Take spices like cumin, ginger, mustard seed, black pepper, long pepper
  • Fasting should be there

Early morning

Green Tea with 8-10 almonds.


150 Gm. tofu with two slices of (Soyapaneer) multigrain bread.

Mid day

One glass seasonal fruit juice or any seasonal fruit.


  • One glass seasonal fruit juice or any seasonal fruit.
  • Two to three chappatis
  • 1 Katori seasonal green vegetable
  • 1 Katori curd
  • Green salad


One Glass of slim milk.


  • 1 Katori Dal
  • Salad
  • Nutrie

Breakfast Options

  • 150 Grms. Tofu
  • Multi veg. Grilled sandwich.
  • Milk dalia.

Snacks for munching

  • Roasted Grams
  • Cashew nuts
  • Nutrie cham

Instructions to follow

  • Avoid Dinner after 8:00 PM
  • Drink 2-3 liters of water per day.
  • Use olive oil in cooking and very less quantity of cooking oil.
  • Avoid fried, spicy food.
  • Avoid Pickels
  • Use Brown sugar and Brown rice.
  • Use rice Only once a week, not more than that.
  • No Ice-Cream, Bakery items and Cold Drinks.
  • Prefer homemade food always.
  • Use multi grain atta for chappatis.
